The ceremony began at the Oratorium Marianum, a beautiful
place at the University of Wrocław. The inauguration was opened by the Chairman of the College, prof. Marek Ziętek, rector of the Medical University. After his
speech, the rectors symbolically matriculated the representatives of their universities. Wrocław University of Economics was represented by students Katarzyna Żydło and
Jakub Fijałkowski.
Then, the Wrocław Scientific Award, established and financed by the President of Wrocław, was given to Prof. Jerzy Jasieńko
from Wrocław University of Science and Technology.
The event ended with a march a rector's retinue along with students dressed in gowns, marched colorfully through the Wrocław Market Square, arousing the keen
interest of numerous tourists. Rectors, academic choirs and all students sang the traditional Gaudeamus Igitur.
