REGULATION NO. 33/2020
of the Rector of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business
issued on 10 March 2020
regarding the cancellation of University-wide ceremonies and events and scientific conferences because of the risk of spreading COVID-19 and other infectious diseases
On the basis of Art. 11 of the Statutes of the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business and due to the epidemiological threat associated with the risk of developing SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, in
reference to the Act on Special Measures Related to the Prevention, Counteracting and Control of COVID-19, Other Infectious Diseases and Crisis Situations Caused by Them of 2 March 2020 (Dz.U. of
2020, item 374), it is ordered as follows:
1. All ceremonies and events organized at the University and by the organizers from the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business outside its campus are cancelled, including scientific
conferences, symposia, sports and cultural events and assemblies that were to take place in the period starting from 10 March 2020.
2. The provision of Para. 1 also applies to ceremonies and events organized by the Student Self-Government, Doctoral Student Self-Government, and other organizations operating at the University, as
well as those organized by external entities at the University on the basis of contracts concluded with the Wroclaw University of Economics and Business.
3. Ceremonies and event organizers are obliged to ensure that persons who were to be their participants are informed about the fact of cancellation, and persons exercising substantive supervision
over contracts concluded with external companies - to inform these companies.
4. At the request of persons or entities that have paid for participation in the ceremony or event, the University's organizational units may count the payment made towards ceremonies/ events
organized at a later date or apply to the Financial Department for a refund.
Approvals for expenditures related to the ceremonies and events referred to in Art. 1, on the basis of which no documented expenditures were made by 9 March 2020, shall cease to be valid, and any
expenses incurred from 10 March 2020 shall not be reimbursed.
The regulations enters into force on the day of signing it and is valid until further notice
